Blu 3 Reunion Concert: Cindy Sanyu Talks Money and Music Status

Cindy Sanyu, part of the Blu 3 girl group, recently shared how they split earnings from their reunion concert last month. The sold-out event at Sheraton on June 22 featured high ticket rates, some as much as Shs 10 million.

Cindy revealed they were satisfied with the gate collections and the division of earnings among herself, Lillian Mbabazi, and Jacki Chandiru. She confirmed that each member received their agreed-upon share without any issues.

Due to her prominent status in the music scene, Cindy received a larger share of the proceeds. She emphasized fairness in the distribution, stating, “The one who has more electricity had to get more money… because this is business.”

The reunion concert marked Blu 3’s return after over 15 years apart. Cindy’s departure from the group in the mid-2000s stemmed from a disagreement over a sudden booking for a show in Tanzania. Her absence led to her temporary replacement, Mya.

Cindy noted Blu 3’s decision to reunite with her was driven by her energy and presence. She expressed confidence in her role within the group, stating, “They recognized that where I was, they needed my energy and my vibe.”
