In a momentous announcement during the Uganda Martyrs celebrations in Namugongo, Church of Uganda Archbishop, Dr. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, expressed profound gratitude to Equity Bank for their instrumental role in realizing the long-cherished dream of completing the Janani Luwum Church House in Kampala.

This acknowledgment marks a significant milestone not only for the Church but also for the broader community as it underscores the power of collaboration between financial institutions and religious organizations in driving impactful projects.

The completion of the Church House, a vision conceived as far back as 1966, stands as a testament to the enduring commitment of both parties involved. Equity Bank’s unwavering support, in the form of a mortgage covering 70% of the construction costs, enabled the realization of this ambitious undertaking. The Archbishop highlighted the pivotal role played by the bank, emphasizing their dedication and partnership throughout the project’s lifecycle.

With a symbolic cheque presented to mark the fulfillment of the credit repayment, Archbishop Kaziimba Mugalu lauded the robust relationship fostered between the Church of Uganda and Equity Bank. He encouraged the faithful to embrace the bank’s offerings, recognizing their potential to enhance financial inclusion and support community development initiatives.

Equity Bank’s Executive Director, Elizabeth Mwerinde Kasedde, echoed Archbishop Kaziimba’s sentiments, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the realization of the Church’s vision.
