Camila Cabello recently voiced her frustration regarding the ongoing rap feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, a topic that has captivated fans. In an interview with the Sunday Times, the “I Luv It” singer discussed her upcoming fourth studio album, C, XOXO, which notably features Drake on two tracks: “Hot Uptown” and “Uuugly.”

The collaboration with Drake stemmed from their time together in Turks and Caicos, where Camila clarified it was a mix of vacation and work. During a previous interview on Call Her Daddy, she had hinted at a close relationship with Drake, sharing how she admires his music and sought his opinion on her album by reaching out via DMs. This personal and professional connection gives Camila a unique perspective on the Drake and Kendrick Lamar rivalry, adding layers to her thoughts on the matter.

For context, the controversial hip-hop battle started when Kendrick subtly dissed Drake and J.Cole on Metro Boomin and Future’s “Like That” in March.

After J. Cole, Rick Ross, and A$AP Rocky fired off diss tracks, Drake responded with “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.” Kendrick Lamar countered with “Euphoria,” igniting a series of back-and-forth diss tracks, including Drake’s “Family Matters,” culminating in Kendrick’s commanding performance of “Not Like Us” five times at The Pop Out: Ken & Friends concert in Los Angeles on Juneteenth.

The rap feud remains unresolved, evident as Kendrick Lamar, adorned in a green jacket and black cap, was spotted filming a music video for “Not Like Us” in Compton, his hometown. Amidst the escalating tensions, two-time Drake collaborator Camila Cabello hinted at her thoughts on the beef without naming names, hinting at her discomfort with the negativity surrounding someone she knows.

“It’s frustrating to witness people speaking negatively about someone you’re close to,” Camila shared with the Sunday Times. “You wish they could just sit down and talk it out.”

Camila’s comments sparked a viral reaction, with critics pointing out her perceived hypocrisy, especially concerning her past controversial remarks and treatment of former bandmate Normani.
