Spain didn’t wait long to respond. In the 21st minute, 16-year-old Lamine Yamal etched his name in history by scoring the youngest ever goal in the Euros. He unleashed a stunning left-footed curler from outside the box that beat France’s goalkeeper Mike Maignan after hitting the post.
Just four minutes later, Spain completed their comeback. Dani Olmo’s shot took a deflection off French defender Jules Kounde, sending it past the despairing Maignan and securing Spain’s place in the final.
This goal also made Olmo the current top scorer of Euro 2024 with four goals to his name.
