According to the latest report from the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), the famine threshold has been surpassed, with acute malnutrition among young children escalating rapidly.

With 1.1 million people in Gaza already experiencing catastrophic hunger, WFP Executive Director Cindy McCain emphasizes the urgent need for immediate access to the northern area to prevent further loss of life. The escalating malnutrition crisis, especially among children, paints a grim picture of the region’s plight.

The southern governorates are also at risk of slipping into famine conditions, highlighting the widespread emergency facing Gaza.
