Territorial Police Investigate Brutal Attack on Church Leader in Jinja

The Territorial Police in Jinja are investigating an incident where attackers assaulted and injured the lay leader of All Saints Church Walukuba on Saturday night.

Mande Isaaya was reportedly attacked by unidentified assailants around 9 PM on Mutekanga Road in the Walukuba East southern division of Jinja city.

Kiira Regional Police Spokesperson SP James Mubi confirmed the incident in a statement released on Saturday evening. He stated that sniffer dogs had been deployed to the scene as part of the ongoing investigation to identify the attackers.

“The incident reportedly occurred around 9 PM on Mutekanga Road in Walukuba East in the southern division of Jinja city by unidentified culprits. Investigations have commenced, and sniffer dogs have been introduced to the scene,” SP Mubi said.

“An intensified tracking process has also begun to ensure the timely apprehension of the suspects,” he added.

This attack comes amid a rise in similar incidents in the Busoga sub-region, where several individuals have fallen victim.
