Reports indicate that Chelsea has prioritized signing a new forward this summer, following Nicolas Jackson’s inconsistent performance in his debut season. Jackson recently sustained a serious ankle injury while playing for Senegal in a World Cup qualifying match against DR Congo.
Chelsea is considering RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and is confident they can compete with Arsenal for his signature. The 21-year-old has a release clause of around £56 million, which Chelsea might activate if their interest progresses.
Napoli’s Victor Osimhen also remains a long-term target for Chelsea, though the club is unwilling to meet the £100 million valuation. Brighton’s Evan Ferguson is admired by Chelsea, but a move for him this window is unlikely.
Since joining Manchester City from River Plate in 2022, Alvarez has often been second choice to Erling Haaland. Despite links to Atletico Madrid, their president Enrique Cerezo recently suggested Alvarez would remain at the Etihad Stadium.
