State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Hon. Balaam Barugahare Attenyi, expressed disappointment over the neglect of the arts sector in the recently announced 2024/2025 national budget. He noted that the sector was overlooked, with no allocation for musicians or arts groups, unlike the significant funding granted to the Football Association (FUFA).

Barugahare attributed this oversight to his late appointment, which hindered his ability to advocate effectively for the arts during the budget planning process. He expressed hope for the upcoming financial year, pledging to start early advocacy efforts to ensure the arts receive due consideration.
