Controversial Ugandan Pastor, Franklin Mondo Mugisha, who recently relocated abroad, has announced his intention to contest a political office in the 2026 general elections. Speaking on Spark TV’s DailySoup gossip show, Pastor Mondo issued a stern challenge to Hon. David Lukyamuzi Kalwanga, the current representative of Busujju County, Mityana. He declared his candidacy with a strong message, vowing to unseat the incumbent whom he criticized for allegedly neglecting the needs of their shared constituency.
“I am returning to Kampala from America with a group of supporters to campaign vigorously for the upcoming elections. We aim to replace MPs we deem corrupt and ineffective,” Pastor Mondo asserted confidently during the interview.
Hailing from Nsinsi village in Busujju, Mityana, Pastor Mondo emphasized his deep roots in the community and his determination to address local issues if elected. He brushed off concerns about his past legal challenges, stating he would address them through legal channels with the help of his lawyers.
