Manchester City’s Phil Foden has been honoured as the Premier League’s Player of the Season.
Earlier this month, the 23-year-old England midfielder was also named the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year.
Foden has achieved a career-best with 17 goals and eight assists in the Premier League this season, ahead of City’s final match on Sunday.
“Winning this award is an achievement I am extremely proud of,” Foden said.
“The Premier League is recognized as the greatest league in the world, and it is a privilege to be nominated alongside so many other great players who have all had exceptional seasons for their clubs.”
Only Erling Haaland (27) has scored more league goals than Foden for City, who will secure a record fourth consecutive English title if they win at home against West Ham on Sunday.
“Overall, I’m very happy with my performance this season and pleased that I have been able to contribute with goals and assists throughout the season,” Foden added.
“I’d like to thank all the City staff, coaches, and especially my teammates, because without them this wouldn’t be possible. I also want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted for me, as this award means a lot.”
