Uganda’s Rwenzori Marathon Gears Up for Third Edition with Significant Support

The eagerly anticipated Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon is set to return for its third edition on August 24th. This event, which has quickly become a staple in Uganda’s sports calendar, is drawing participants from all over the globe, showcasing the country’s commitment to promoting both sports and tourism.

Hon. Bahinduka Mugarra Martin, a prominent figure in the Ugandan government, recently announced that the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities (MTWA) and its sister agencies have stepped up to support the marathon. A contribution of UGX 50 million was handed over to the event organizers, emphasizing the government’s dedication to fostering sports and supporting events that bring international attention to Uganda.

The marathon, held in the scenic Kasese area, not only boosts the visibility of Uganda but also brings direct economic benefits to the local community.
